Day 6 - Tengboche to Dingboche

Lovely 5:30am start to the day to catch the sunrise over Everest which was fabulous. Was very very cold at that time of the morning though.  The sun shining off the mountains was spectacular!

We had a rather gentle hike in the morning which took is through Pangboche saw some very cute little kids there, they seem so happy, always smiling.

We continued on with the river by our side and Ama Dablem towering high above us.  The closer we get to Ama Dablem the more spectacular the magnitude of this mountain is.  We have been watching a precariously placed snow chunk near the very top for a few days waiting for an avalanche but it has hung on.

Stopped for lunch on Somare which is at 4040m, not feeling any affects of the altitude yet.
Dad hasn't been feeling well today, has a cold and cough but with the rest day tomorrow hopefully he starts feeling better.

The afternoon walk to Dingboche saw us cross over the vegetation line of 4000m.  You can see through the valleys for miles.  The wind has picked up and it is now quite chilly.
Everest has now disappeared behind mountains for the next 2.5 days.

Dingboche

Remnants of a bridge.  Luckily this collapsed overnight

Couldn't even walk past eachother!!
