Lake Tekapo to Mount Cook

Coming to you live from Mount Cook, its the Tonight Show with your hosts Joe & Kelly. Todays events started off back in Lake Tekapo as we visited the Mount John observatory. The views from the top of Lake Tepako and the township were fantastic. After a short stay there it was on the road to Mount Cook. We had a nice smooth run with beautiful mountain ranges on either side of the car.

Stopped off to check out Lake Pukaki which was truly magnificent. Again, the turqoise colour of the water is beautiful.

Had a smooth run from there up to Mount Cook. As soon as you start to see this mountain it is breathtaking. Even covered in clouds it is an awesome sight with snow running down the face. We are staying at the famous Hermitage Hotel here, and have nice room with views straight out to the mountain.

We went for a hike this afternoon to the Hooker Valley with a glacier being the endpoint. Nice hike, little bit of rain on the way, however we both got sunburnt (the old bald head copped it!!!). To be honest we were a little disappointed at the glacier, I think we expected something a little more grand as the scenery on the way was fantastic.

We are hoping that when we wake tomorrow we can open the curtains and there lies Mount Cook, untarnished by low clouds.

So anyway with that out of the way, I now present to you todays nomination for the Douchbag Parking awards. Probably not up there with yesterdays effort (I mean really how can that be topped, thats like douchebag parking nirvana), but a great effort all the same. I'll slot them into second position for now.
